Cindy Kernea

Cindy Kernea was born on November 13, 1957 in Oakdale TN and passed away at her residence in Gainesboro on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at the age of 68.

Cindy was the daughter of Thomas Dicken and Rose Dicken. She was a retired school teacher in the Jackson County School System for many years.. She enjoyed seeing her students from her teaching days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Nathan Kernea.

Survived by her partner: Jerry McLerran of Gainesboro TN; step daughter, Shannon (Ryan) Braber of Glasgow KY and step-son: Chris Kernea of Atlanta GA. Other relatives and many friends also survive.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 from 10 am to 1 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 3, 2025 at 1:00pm in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery.
