Jimmy Dyer

Jimmy Dyer was born on February 22, 1949 in Bloomington Springs, TN and passed away at Cookeville Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at the age of 76.

Jimmy was the son of JD Dyer and Myrtle Haney Dyer. He was the owner of Mega-Trend Furniture Company in Cookeville and attended Cummins Mill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathy Marie Phillips Dyer, who passed away December 16, 2021; and his brothers, Eddy Royce Dyer, Russell Wayne Dyer, and Douglas Ray Dyer.

He is survived by his son, James (Holly) Dyer of Cookeville, TN; daughter, Karen (Shannon) Wilson of Cookeville, TN; sisters, Shirley Ann Mee of Cookeville, TN, Elizabeth Gayle (Roger) Hogue of Baxter, TN; grandchildren, Jessica (Josh) Blessing of Livingston, TN, Chelsea Dyer of Chicago, IL, Daniel (Misty) Wilson of Huntsville, AL, Jacob Dyer of WI, Gabriel Dyer of IL, Grace (Garrett) Johnson of Sparta, TN, Maddox Wilson of Cookeville, TN, Lillianne Wilson of Cookeville, TN, Eva Wilson of Cookeville; and 10 great-grandchildren and special friend Julie Sims.

The family will be hosting a potluck style memorial gathering at the Shiloh Community Center on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 11am to 1pm. If anyone has pictures they would like to share, please bring them to the memorial gathering.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to Second Harvest Food Bank at www.secondharvestmidtn.org in Jim’s honor.
