Melanie Machelle Warta

Melanie Machelle Warta was born on July 8, 1960, in Cookeville, TN and she passed away at St. Thomas West in Nashville, TN on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the age of 65.

Machelle was the daughter of Jackie Lee Gentry and Ellen Marie Gentry.  She married Timothy Warta on January 18, 1991.  They were married over 33 years.

She attended First United Pentecostal Church of Cookeville.  She enjoyed arts and crafts.  She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, who lovingly called  her "Mia".  

She was preceded in death by her: father; brother: Jackie Gentry; and aunt: Mamie Allen.

She is survived by her spouse: Timothy Warta; sons: Jeremy (Jessica) Greenwood of Cookeville, TN,  Jesse (Jennifer) Warta of Baxter, TN, Shawn (Madilynn) Warta of Cookeville, TN; sisters: Karen (Gary) Allen of Cookeville, TN, Lorri (Jeremy) Kaiding of Shelbyville, TN; mother: Ellen Marie of TN; grandchildren: Aiden Carver of TN, Mahayla Greenwood of TN, Adisyn Greenwood of TN, Nikolai Greenwood of TN, Xavier Greenwood of TN, Bella Huddleston of TN, Cali Huddleston of TN, Remi Warta of TN, Bristol Warta of TN, Elias Warta of TN, Scarlett Warta of TN, Katie Warta of TN, Henry Warta of TN; and aunt: Velma Young of TN.  Machelle is survived by several other relatives and friends.

The family has chosen to honor Machelle's wish and has selected cremation at this time.  The family plans to hold a Celebration of Life in her honor at a later date and time.
