Nell Frances Brown Anderson

Mrs. Nell Frances Brown Anderson was born December 23, 1928, in Jackson County, TN, and passed from this life Friday, May 10, 2024, at CRMC in Cookeville, TN. She was 95 years old at the time of her passing.

She was born to Ben Fowler Brown and Lona Vestel Brown and was reared in the Flynn’s Lick Community of Jackson County. After graduating from Jackson County High School, she moved to Nashville, TN, where she worked until she met her future husband, who was also from Jackson County. On March 16, 1948, she married Hugh Haggard Anderson and was married for 37 years prior to his death, October 28, 1986. Nell was a devoted Wife, Mother, and Christian, who constantly took care of her Husband and Children. She was employed by Colonial Manufacturing for many years until her retirement. Later in life, she worked at the Jackson County Election Commission until her retirement at age 90. Nell was a member of the Stone Church of Christ and attended services there until she became unable to attend.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ben Fowler Brown and Lona Vestel Brown and her Husband, Hugh Haggard Anderson. Sisters: Bernice Brown, Reba Brown Allen, Debrah Sheron and Brother Ronald Brown.

She is survived by three daughters: Joan (Joe) Halfacre, Janice Marie Anderson, Fran (Pete) Green, and one son, Ben Frank (Jenny) Anderson. Special Nieces and Nephew: Marie Anderson Carlisle, Lucinda Anderson Vedros and Thomas Edward (Preacher) Anderson Three Grandchildren: Jay (Marnie) Halfacre, Lacy Anna (Daniel) Smith, Bethany Anderson (Fiance William Pyle). Two Step-Grandchildren: Forrest (Lucy) Green, Julianna Green Great Grandchildren: Lyla Smith, Hudson Smith, Hayston Smith, Joelle Halfacre, Josiah Halfacre, Step-Great Grandchildren: Silas Green and Esther Green. Many other friends and relatives survive.

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 12, 2024, 4-8 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home and again on Monday, 11 am to 1 pm.  Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm on Monday, May 14, 2024 in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating.  Burial will follow in Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery.
