Age 69
Roger Dale Allen, 69, of Gainesboro, TN, passed away on April 23, 2026, at TriStar Summit Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was born on June 3, 1956, in Nashville, TN.
Roger spent time woodworking and also worked in an industrial factory, where he became known for his dependable nature and strong work ethic. He took pride in doing honest work and believe in the importance of showing up each day with commitment and care.
Roger started driving the school bus for Jackson County on Route 2 which is now known as Old Antioch Road. Roger had said there were big speakers in the back of the bus and a rock KDF license plate (before the radio station changed to country) on the front of the bus. He always said everyone knew when they were coming through because they were the rowdiest bus route of all. Roger was a good man to everyone and loved and cared about by a lot of people. He took a lot of kids to raise and taught a lot of them what they know today.
Roger found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. He was a knife collector who appreciated the craftsmanship and character of each piece. He enjoyed fishing, a pastime that gave him time for peace, reflection, and the beauty of the outdoors. He loved birds and took pleasure in watching them, finding comfort in their presence and the quiet moments they brought. He was also a gardener, and he enjoyed tending to growing things with patience and care. These interests reflected his appreciation for nature, detail, and the small blessings of everyday life.
Family and friendship meant everything to Roger. He valued the people around him deeply and was known as a true father figure to many. He offered guidance, encouragement, and a steady example of love and loyalty. His relationships were built on trust and sincerity, and he will be remembered for the way he made others feel supported and cared for. The bonds he formed throughout his life were a testament to the respect and affection he earned from those closest to him.
Roger is survived by his son: Cory Allen of Gainesboro, TN. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and enduring memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His family and friends will remember his gentle nature, his sense of humor, and the comfort of his presence.
Roger is proceeded in death by his parents, daughter: Kaula Allen and brother: Randall Allen.
He will be remembered with love and gratitude by all whose lives he touched. His memory will continue to be cherished as one of a caring man who lived with heart, generosity, and a deep appreciation for the people and simple joys that made his life meaningful.
