Zella T. Pippin, age 83, passed away peacefully at her home in Florida on November 17, 2025. Born on June 25, 1942, in Gainesboro, Tennessee, she was a loving and devoted presence in the lives of all who knew her.
A quiet, caring soul and a lifelong Christian, Zella was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who lived her life with steadfast faith and a deep love for her family. She was married to the love of her life, Fred Terry Pippin, with whom she shared a life built on devotion, commitment, and enduring affection until his passing.
She was a member of the Center Grove Church of Christ in Gainesboro and the Double Springs Church of Christ. A lifelong avid reader, she found joy in books and treasured the peace and reflection they brought.
Zella is survived by her daughters, Kimberley Keaton and Penny Johnson; her sisters Stella Vinson, Gail Franklin, and Linda Gentry; her grandchildren Katherine Nassar, Paige Johnson, Gary Keaton, and Daniel Keaton; and her great-grandchild James Nassar.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Fred Terry Pippin; her parents Carmon Dyer and Ethel (Haney) Dyer; her sisters Carlene Flatt and Johnny Wangler; and her brother Carmen Dyer.
A visitation will be held on Friday evening, November 28, 2025 from 4 to 8 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Graveside services and internment will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 11 am at Byers Cemetery in Center Grove Community of Jackson County.
Zella’s presence will be deeply missed, but the love she shared will continue to live on through the family she cherished.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Zella's honor to Happen Haven Home or to The Waters of Gainesboro Activities Committee by contacting the business office of the funeral home.
